Remounting and Compositing

Remounting and compositing refers to taking a specimen, for example, a megalodon shark tooth attached to a whale vertebrae on which it did not initially reside. Sometimes, we do this for artistic and aesthetic purposes to make a fossil more displayable. Like restorations and repairs, we will note in listing descriptions any remounting or compositing that may have occurred in the product description.
